Heffy Doodle & Sunny Studio Collaboration Blog Hop

Hello & welcome to a collaboration blog hop with the Heffy Doodle design team. Our two teams have swapped products and are sharing fun card idea for spring. Today I'm joining in with three cards of my own featuring primarily Heffy Doodle products with a little Sunny Studio sprinkled in.

Heffy Doodle & Sunny Studio Collaboration Blog Hop: Quill You Be Mine & Chimply The Best Cards by Mendi Yoshikawa

As a company owner I so rarely find the time to make cards using other company's products these days (even though I continue to be a fangirl and collect them just as much as I ever did) so this blog hop is a real treat for me. For my first card I am featuring Heffy Doodle's Quill You Be Mine? Stamps, together with the darling heart cutout from their Fancy Nancy Frames Dies

To save on cardstock, I decided to cut the heart frame directly from my cardbase and then colored my grass panel using twisted citron distress ink and stamping it with the grass images from our Chickie Baby Stamps. I then adhered my entire panel which I trimmed down ever so slightly to the inside of my card base. As a final touch I used Heffy Doodle's super fun Roundabout Sentiments together with their coordinating Curved Banner Die.

Up next is another card featuring the Heffy Doodle Quill You Be Mine? Stamps and another frame option from the Fancy Nancy Frames Dies. For my background  I stamped our Cascading Hearts background stamps twice, side by side, using my MISTI and a rainbow of ink colors.  I then blended on that same rainbow of ink colors for my background with Candy Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron and Mermaid Lagoon distress inks.

When I was done, I die-cut my panel using the stitched frame from our Frilly Frames Retro Petals Dies. My final finishing touch was adding my sentiment using the Roundabout Sentiments Stamps and Curved Banner Die. I just love how well these were thought out with the option to have the greeting continue for both the top and bottom. Such a sweet hugging image too!

My last card of the day combine's Heffy Doodle's adorable Chimply The Best Monkeys with their Amazonian Leaves Dies for a fun moonlit swing through the jungle. I started my card by inking my moon in the background by using a circular motion and my favorite Jumbo Dauber together with Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed distress inks. I then worked on some Salty Ocean distress ink from the outside edges, being careful to only blend ever so slightly so that there wasn't an obvious green line where the two colors overlapped. I then followed with some Blueprint Sketch distress ink on the outer edges. Lastly I cut my stitched background panel using our Frilly Frames Quatrefoil Dies.

For my Amazonian Leaves I first inked up scraps of paper with Twisted Citron distress ink before cutting them out with the dies. I then inked up half of my leaves on the right side and the other half on the left side using Mowed Lawn distress ink. This gives the appearance that both the leaves on top and bottom have the same light source, lends a bit of dimension to them and also helps to overlap them without them looking flat and losing the detail where they cross over each other.

When I was done adding my leaves, I realized I should have had my leaves bleeding off the edge of my card more, but it turned out to be a happy realization because I was able to trim both the top and bottom off, which gave me a little room to add a fun strip of coordinating paper from our Summer Splash Paper pack, together with a little zig-zag edge from our Ric Rac Border dies. I completed my card with a heat embossed sentiment from the Chimply The Best stamp set using VersaMark Ink and White Detail Embossing Powder.

Introducing New Snail Mail Mini Stamps

Hello there!  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday week! We are switching gears and transitioning from Christmas to Spring this week featuring a new mini love inspired set called Snail Mail.

Card No.1: For my first card I started by creating a chevron striped background alternating red, pink and aqua stripes cut using our Ric Rac Border dies, using a clear ruler to keep them straight and centered on my card. I then cut two stitched circle mats (using dies that will be shared more next week) together with the grassy border from our Slimline Nature Border Dies. I colored the mailbox, snails and love letters with Copics from the new Snail Mail stamps. For my "love you" sentiment, I used a stamp from our Savanna Safari Stamps and mounted them onto a thought bubble from our Comic Strip Speech Bubbles dies.

Card No.2:  For my next card I just focused on the mailbox from the Snail Mail stamps, pairing it with the polar bear & "I love you" greeting from our Playful Polar Bear Stamps and the snow drift from the Slimline Nature Border dies. I inked behind them with some Picked Raspberry Distress ink and then framed my little scene using our Fancy Frame Square Dies which I die-cut from red cardstock.

For my background I stamped our Cascading Heart Stamps first in pink and then offset my paper and stamped them with a second series in red. As a final touch I added the stitching to the edge of my card panel using our Slimline Basic Border dies and a small scalloped edge cut from our Classic Gingham Paper.Sunny Studio Blog: Valentine's Day Card (using Snail Mail, Playful Polar Bears & Cascading Hearts Stamps and Fancy Frames Square Dies)

Here's a closer look at the new Snail Mail stamps and Snail Mail dies. While these are available in our store now, the rest of our Spring Release will be shared with our Sneak Peek Week next week and available to purchase on January 8th.

Cascading Hearts Love You A Waffle Card with Vanessa

Hi everybody! Vanessa here with a last Valentine's Day card using the beautiful Cascading Hearts Stamps and the Breakfast Puns set.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Cascading Hearts and Breakfast Puns Love You A Waffle Card by Vanessa Menhorn

First, I stamped the Cascading Hearts using soft coral ink, then I inked the top of the panel lightly with the same ink. Now I stamped the waffles onto the panel and onto a separate piece of cardstock, colored the extra images with Copics, fussy-cut them and adhered them to the card.

After I had added the stamped and colored butter and the strawberry image, I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment onto a strip of red cardstock and adhered it. Finally, I die-cut the red hearts using the Breakfast Puns dies and adhered them to the card.

I need to stop making cards with the Breakfast Puns set, it always makes me hungry! Thank you for visiting today!

Cascading Hearts Froggy Valentine Card with Eloise

Hi everyone, Eloise here today using the new Cascading Hearts stamp set along with Froggy Friends, Sunny Sentiments, Comfy Creatures and the Stitched Scallop Dies to create a Valentine's Day card.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Cascading Hearts Froggy Valentine Card by Eloise Blue

To begin, I used some Coral Berry ink from Altenew to stamp the Cascading Hearts stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock twice. This stamp is super easy to line up next to each other and combines nicely. Once I stamped it twice, I went ahead and cut a piece of masking tape into a hill shape, adhered down the positive piece at the bottom of the cardstock and blended some Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar Distress Ink onto the background, going super light at the bottom as it reaches the hill.

Next, I removed the mask, replaced it with the negative piece and blended some Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio ink onto the bottom half. Once all my ink blending was done, I used the Froggy Friends stamp set and stamped the water ripple stamp into the blue ink blended piece with some Volcano Lake ink from Altenew. Next, I stamped out all my images from Froggy Friends and Sunny Sentiments, adding in little hearts to the tummies of the frogs and eyelashes to the female frogs also and coloured them in with Copic Markers. Once they were coloured, I cut them out with their coordinating dies.

Next up, I added foam tape and adhesive to all my images and adhered them down in the water ripple. Then, I used the Comfy Creatures stamp set to stamp 'Happy' into the centre of the cloud, then used the 'Valentine's Day' sentiment from Froggy Friends underneath Happy to complete my sentiment. Then I popped it up on foam tape and adhered it above my scene cluster. Lastly, I adhered my entire panel onto a card base, then used the Stitched Scallop Dies and cut out two borders using white cardstock and adhered them on the top and bottom of my card to frame it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I'll catch you next time.

Cascading Hearts Birthday Kitties Card with Nancy

Hey there Sunny Studio fans, Nancy here today with a look at the new Cascading Hearts background stamp. I love how easy this is to use in a repeated pattern to create a burst of color on plain white cards. It makes the perfect backdrop for a trio of birthday kitties.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Cascading Hearts Purrfect Birthday Trio of Kitties Card by Nancy

To create the card, use the Cascading Heart stamp and a trio of pigment inks ranging from fire engine red to bubblegum pink to orange. Using a stamping platform is key to getting the coverage shown here. Next, stamp a trio of kitties and balloons from the Purrfect Birthday stamp set and color with Copic markers. Use foam tape to pop up the center kitty and some of the balloons. Add the sentiment just under the kitties in blank ink. Place a small cake icon at the start of the sentiment for a bit of whimsy.

Cascading Hearts Happy Birthday Princess Card with Lexa

Hello friends! Lexa here today with a birthday card featuring the brand new Cascading Heart Stamps, it's super versatile for any occasions and so easy to work with.

Sunny Studio Stamps: Cascading Hearts Tiny Dancer Happy Birthday Princess Card by Lexa Levana

For today's card, I also use Tiny Dancers Stamps and the coordinating dies together with Cascading Heart Stamps for the background. First, I stamped all the images with Versafine black ink and watercolour them with Distress Markers. After I finished with the colouring, I use the coordinating dies to die cut all of them. Perfect thin white lines around the images are just so satisfying to look at. I'm so in love with Fancy Frames Circle Dies, it adds an extra detail to every projects and of course I can use it all year around. I stamp the sentiment and some stars in the circle.

Let's move to the background, I make an A2 standard card base then blend Distress Inks in Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass to create a gradation. After I'm happy with the blending, I stamp Cascading Heart twice with blue dye ink. It's super pretty like the hearts fall from the sky.

That's all for today, I hope you like my card. Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you guys have an amazing day!
